Childrens Hike Sat July 7 in the PIP

"Sea Glass Hunt"

There will be a children's hike with Emory Davis on Saturday, July 7, meeting at 10 AM at the entrance to the Alpine Boat Basin & Picnic Area (PIP Exit 2). This is an approx. 1 mi. round-trip hike in 2 hrs. over easy trails. Participants will stop to explore a riverfront beach area and to collect sea glass and other beach-combing treasure at the half-way point of the hike. There is no admission fee for the program, which is open to all with no advance registration required, but a $5 parking fee is charged at the Alpine area. The hike will be held "drizzle or shine"; a rain date is set for Sunday, July 8 (also at 10 AM). If weather conditions seem questionable, hikers should call 201 768-1360 ext. 108 on the morning of the hike to confirm.

It's that time of year again!

Palisades Interstate Park will host its anual Shad Festival this Sunday:

"Hooked on the Hudson 07

There will be a fishing contest and other activities sponsored by the Hudson River Fishermen's Association on Sunday, May 6, from 8 AM to 3 PM at the Ross Dock Picnic Area in Fort Lee (accessible from the park's southern entrance at the Edgewater-Fort Lee border). This is a free program, open to all, with no advance registration required. ($5 per car parking.) The program will be held rain or shine.

Hike on the Palisades:

"Millionaires' Row"

There will be a winter history hike with Eric Nelsen on Saturday, January 6, meeting at 11 AM at Park Headquarters in Alpine (PIP Exit 2). The hike will cover about 3 miles round-trip distance in about 2 hours over relatively easy trails. This is a free program, open to all, with no advance registration required. The hike will be held "drizzle or shine"; heavy or steady rain, or icy trail conditions, will cancel. To confirm on the morning of the hike if conditions seem questionable: 201 768-1360 ext. 208.
